A Journey of Faith
Puducherry, with its distinct cultural identity, saw a new dawn for English ministry in 1991. A group of believers recognized the need, and their prayers resulted in the birth of Emmanuel Methodist Church, Pondicherry, on 16th November 1991 at (Late) Capt. M.N.C. David’s residence. This was an outreach project of EMC, Chennai, with significant contributions from Rev. Dr. Martin Alphonse.
God provided for the church through the generous donation of 4800 sq ft of land by (Late) Dr. A.R. Thiagarajan. The present spacious church building was constructed and dedicated on 20th December 1999 by Bishop Sampath Kumar. Over the years, the church expanded with the addition of the Susanna Wesley Sunday School Hall (2007), Sexton Quarters (2016), and a Parsonage (2021).
